Insert or add accent marks in email body with Outlook Symbol function
Besides the above trick, you can also insert or add accent marks in Outlook email body with its build-in Symbol function.
1. Create a new email message, and click on the email body to activate the Insert tools.
2. Then go to Insert tab, and click Symbol > More Symbols…. See screenshot:
3. In the Symbol dialog, click Symbols tab, then drag the scroll bar to the accent marks you need, and select the accent symbol you would like to use, and then click Insert button to insert it. After finishing inserting, please close the dialog. See screenshot:

Thank you- To post as a guest, your comment is unpublished.Ctrl+1+: will not give you anything Sherkleton. You didn't mean Ctrl+Shft+: did you? This will only work on letters that use that accent (like u and o).
'ctrl+', then press e' will not work in Excel, Elizabeth. try it in Word or Outlook. You may find that it won't work in a font that doesn't have the e' character and may not work in 'plain font' situations.
